Jammu & Kashmir: Pakistan, Isis Flags Waved in Srinagar on the Eve of Eid al-Fitr -

A clash broke out between the police and protesters in Srinagar on Friday after flags of Pakistan and Islamic State (Isis) were waved in the capital of Jammu & Kashmir following the Juma-tul-Wida namaz held on the last Friday of the holy month of Ramzan (Ramadan).The police had to use tear gas to disperse the protesters, according to an ANI report.The incident took place on the eve of Eid al-Fitr and on a day when Prime Minister Narendra Modi was in Jammu on a one-day visit. Indian Muslims are likely to celebrate Eid on Saturday.This is the third time Isis flags have been seen in the Kashmir valley since June this year. Pakistani flags have been spotted in Jammu & Kashmir on several occasions in the past.Earlier, during a rally in May this year, Pakistani flags were waved by Kashmiri separatist Syed Ali Shah Geelani’s supporters. -
