Dangerous blizzard conditions are developing across parts of the East as Winter Storm Jonas intensifies. More than 60 million Americans remain under blizzard warnings or winter storm warnings from Georgia to Massachusetts. Snowfall rates will exceed 2 inches per hour at times in some areas and when combined with increasing winds, will lead to life-threatening whiteout conditions.Jonas had already dumped as much as 18 inches of snow in western North Carolina and up to 16 inches in eastern Kentucky as of Friday night. More than a foot of snow has also blanketed parts of eastern Tennessee, West Virginia and Virginia. Snow has even been reported as far south as Florida and southern Alabama. -
