A video showing the collision of a Mitsubishi Adventure and a motorcycle, which caused the bike rider to flip in the air, in Baguio City is doing the rounds online.A certain Roman Santos posted the said video on YouTube on February 15, 2016 and wrote that the incident happened at the Marcos Highway Flyover. The video’s timestamp shows the date at February 13, 2016 and the time starting from 9:49.It was also posted by Top Gear Philippines, giving credit to one Leo Kimbungan as the source of the dash-cam video.In the one-minute, four-second video, it can be seen that a Mitsubishi Adventure overtook the other vehicles on the right lane, and used the left lane designated for the vehicles traversing in the opposite direction.The blue SUV collided with the fast-approaching motorcycle. The driver of the two-wheeled vehicle immediately flew in the air with his helmet detaching from his head upon hitting the oncoming vehicle.Another motorcycle rider, who happened to pass by, approached the scene. The driver of the Mitsubishi also alighted and went to the motorcycle driver lying on the ground.A double solid yellow line marking can be seen on the road. “A solid yellow line that marks the center of the road separates the traffic traveling in opposite directions. Overtaking is permitted in one direction only,” the Automobile Association of the Philippines reminded motorists.According to Santos and the other netizens who commented on the video, the motorcycle rider reportedly survived the accident. -
