A Twin Otter aircraft, similar to the one in the photo -- operated by Tara Air and carrying 23 people including two foreigners. Tara Air Viking 9N-AHH Twin Otter carrying 18 passengers and three crew members en route to Jomsom from Pokhara has been missing. The plane took off from Pokhara at 7:47 this morning. The passengers included two tourists, according to Police. Tara Air has said that it has received reports of a missing plane. It is not clear what caused the crash. But Dana VDC and adjoining areas were enshrouded in cloud of dust on Tuesday following dry landslides in Mt Annapurna South base .since Monday night.
Locals have found the aircraft aflame in Dana VDC-2, Solighopte area. Shyam Pun, Lal Bahadur Pun, Nabin Khadka and Sher Bahadur Budhathoki along with a police man rushed to the crash site after a local of Rupse informed them. "We saw an aircraft aflame. It is still burning," Shyam Pun told Republica Online. According to him a body is also lying at the site.
