Nepali feature film, Megha, has been selected for the upcoming London Asian Film Festival, which is scheduled to be held in London, UK, from March, 2016. Produced under the banner of Sabasta Entertainment, Megha was directed by Samjhana Uprety Rauniyar, and features actors Namrata Shrestha, Raymon Das Shrestha, Siddhartha Koirala, Bhintuna Joshi, MS Agraj, Meera KC, and Dhruva Koirala, among others. The film features background score by Gopal Yonjan. The film festival has been organised by the non-profit organisation Tongues on Fire since 1999. The film festival focuses on films ‘with an Asian flavour’ from around the world. The festival’s philosophy is to recognise that entertainment is intertwined with important political and social messages and to promote films that tackle challenging issues of society. Special guests to the festival include Mira Nair (Monsoon Wedding, The Namesake), Gurinder Chadha (Bend It Like Beckham), Aparna Sen (15, Park Avenue) and Meera Syal (Anita and Me), actors Shabana Azmi, Nandita Das, Madhur Jaffrey, Kiran Kher and Bollywood legend Helen. -
