In a case of broad daytlight robbery, unidentified armed men on Saturday afternoon shot dead a security guard posted with SBI Bank’s Sarai Sheikh branch in Uttar Pradesh’s capital, Lucknow.
As per reports, the SBI Bank robbery took place at around 1 pm at Sarai Sheikh branch located in Chinhat area of Lucknow when unidentified armed robbers barged into the bank.
Sources said that the armed robbers barged into SBI Bank’s Sarai Sheikh branch and snatched the rifle of security guard identified as Shravan Kumar after which they shot him dead.
“After shooting the security guard, the robbers held the bank officials and customers present in the bank, hostage at gun point and made away with cash worth Rs 80,000 from bank employees,” sources said, adding that the police officials have registered a case in SBI Bank robbery and a hunt is on to nab the absconding accused.
Reports said that one of the three robbers was wearing helmet while two were armed with pistols and three bank employees inclduing manager Priya Tiwari, cashier Suresh Chander Gupta, office boy Amit and the deceased security guard along with three customers were present in the bank at the time of robbery.
