KATHMANDU: Nepali Ambassador to India Deep Kumar Upadhyaya said he would meet Indian Prime Minister Narendra Modi after the latter returns home from the United States and inform him about the current obstruction in supplies from India to Nepal.Stating that the government has been requesting the Indian government to ease the supply of essential goods at the earliest, Upadhyaya urged one and all to maintain restraint until Indian Prime Minister Modi speaks up about the matter.Saying he had met senior Indian officials, including Home Minister Rajnath Singh and Minister of External Affairs Sushma Swaraj, in India, Upadhyaya opined that all should be patient till the diplomatic efforts bear fruit. As India has been reportedly saying it has not imposed any blockade on Nepal but expressing security concerns, he said, “We don’t have basis to call it blockade.”“We have also asked (India ) to understand the sensitivity of landlocked and least developed country,” Upadhyaya said, speaking at an interaction in Kathmandu today. -
