Faced with crossing one of Nepal’s most popular rafting rivers to get to school or work, but having limited bridge access, they have devised a system of hand operated cable crossings. The crossing really is as dangerous as it seems with a reported five deaths in 2010 and countless lost fingers. There are 12 similar crossings over the Trishuli river and only a few permanent bridges. The problem is so widespread, in fact, that the Prime Minister K.
