Medical expenses of musician Amber Gurung

The government has decided to cover all the medical expenses of veteran music composer, singer and lyricist Ambar Gurung, who is currently undergoing medical treatment at a hospital in India for Parkinson’s disease and diabetes. A cabinet meeting held at Singha Durbar on Monday took the decision to this effect as Gurung’s family is struggling to cover the expenses for his treatment. “The government will cover all the expenses of the veteran music composer Gurung,” said Minister for Water Supply and Sanitation Prem Bahadur Rai. Renowned musician Gurung is the music composer of Nepal’s national anthem.Similarly, the cabinet also decided to give medal of valor to deceased pilot Dinesh Neupane and co-pilot Santosh Rana of Air Kasthamandap for saving lives of passengers at the cost of their own lives, informed minister Rai. The pilot and co-pilot had saved lives of nine passengers by crash-landing the plane in Kalikot district. The plane was bound to Jumla from Nepalgunj. Similarly, the meeting also decided to cover medical expense of Nepali Congress leader and former minister Narahari Acharya.Acharya, who suffered brain hemorrhage recently, is receiving medical treatment at Bansbari-based Neuro Hospital for over a month. Acharya, who has been living with hypertension for 25 years and was under regular medication, was taken to hospital after he lost consciousness upon learning about the death of party president Sushil Koirala.
